What You’ll Work On:

During the traineeship you’ll contribute to real-world projects across:

Business operations & reservations systems
Content creation, storytelling & brand development
Social-media strategy, scheduling & analytics
Digital marketing campaigns & email funnels
Guest communications & experience design
Trip logistics, community building & on-tour support
Risk Mitigation & Safety Proceedures

Phase 1 – Bali Immersion (First 3 Months)

Return flight to Bali (Denpasar) and free villa accommodation
One-to-one mentoring and structured onboarding
Hybrid office/field work on live Indy Escapes departures

Phase 2 – Remote Contracting (Final 9 Months)

Work from anywhere, on deliverables-based milestones
Ongoing support, feedback and professional development

Your Role Will Entail

Over 12 months you’ll work on real projects while developing professional expertise across:

Skills You’ll Learn & Practical Focus Areas

Geography & Culture - Building culturally sensitive itineraries
Supply & Logistics- Sourcing ground partners, moving people & kit smoothly
Risk Analysis & Mitigation- Safety plans, crisis comms, insurance touch-points
Administration & Reservations- Inventory control, booking systems, payment flows
Business Operations- SOPs, reporting, KPI tracking, stakeholder relations
Content Creation & Management - Photo, video, copy — asset libraries & brand voice
Marketing & Business Development - Campaign planning, partnerships, funnels
Paid MarketingMeta/TikTok/Google ads, ROAS optimisation
Leadership & Psychology - Team dynamics, traveller motivation, conflict resolution
Guest Communication & Experience - Pre-trip nurture, on-tour touch-points, post-trip reviews

Who We’re Looking For

Relentless problem-solver – you can find (or build) a solution to anything.
Creative marketing or business-development flair – you know how to spark interest, nurture partnerships, and turn ideas into measurable growth.
IT experience with an innovative edge – comfortable with tech stacks, automations and data, and always hunting for smarter digital tools.
Graphic-design or communications skills – from punchy social posts to slick pitch decks.
Proven initiative & leadership – you spot gaps, take charge, and bring others with you.
Global cultural & religious awareness – genuine respect and curiosity for diverse communities.
Supply & logistics mindset – you love turning moving parts into friction-free systems.
Most importantly: Most importantly, you MUST have a genuine passion for travel, for people, for the environment, and for creating meaningful experiences for every guest and community that we visit.

Key Eligibility & Legal Notes

Upon satisfactory completion of the 12-month engagement —including achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and deliverables set out in the Contractor Agreement, as determined by Indy Escapes Pty Ltd acting reasonably—Indy Escapes Pty Ltd may, at its sole and absolute discretion, grant the Contractor one complimentary place on each Indy Escapes tour destination scheduled within twelve (12) months of the contract’s end date (“Completion Bonus”).

The Completion Bonus is not an entitlement, is non-transferable, and carries no cash value.
Provision of the bonus is conditional on:
1. The Contractor continuing to satisfy all relevant visa, health, and insurance requirements for each destination;
2. The Contractor signing Indy Escapes’ standard passenger waiver and booking terms; and
3. Seat availability on the chosen departures.
Any income-tax, GST, or other liabilities arising from acceptance or use of the Completion Bonus are the Contractor’s sole responsibility.
Nothing in this clause creates or implies an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between the parties, nor does it vary the independent-contractor status established under the Contractor Agreement.

Discretionary Completion Bonus

Engagement: 12-month contract with Indy Escapes Pty Ltd as an independent contractor; no employment relationship is created under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) or Independent Contractors Act 2006 (Cth).
Contractor Agreement: Pay, milestones and deliverables are negotiable and will be documented in a written agreement compliant with Australian law.
Business Registration & Invoicing: You must hold a valid ABN or overseas business registration and issue GST-compliant tax invoices where applicable.
Self-managed Obligations: You are solely responsible for your own tax, superannuation/retirement contributions, professional indemnity & public liability insurance, health cover and visa compliance.
Visa: You must be eligible for an Indonesian digital-nomad, social or business visa (guidance available).
Accommodation: First three months include free shared villa accommodation in Bali; all other living costs are your responsibility.
