ITINERARY
Day 1: ARRIVAL DAY
One of our friendly Indy Escapes staff members will meet you and your new travel buddies at the airport.
After meeting the team, we will depart from Malé Airport together in a private speedboat to Fulidhoo Island. Once we arrive, we will have a brief introductory meeting to understand the flow of the week, then head down to the local beach for a sunset swim.
After you’ve had time for a shower, we will enjoy our first family dinner on the beach, where we will play some games and get to know the crew.
Day 2: WHALE SHARK
After a nice big Maldivian breakfast, we will depart for South Ari Atoll, where we will search for the world's biggest fish, the Whale Shark. Swimming with whale sharks in the Maldives is an incredible experience, offering a unique opportunity to encounter these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
We work closely with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Project, a local NGO that lobbies for greater protection of these majestic creatures, and we will learn a little more about Whale Sharks before entering the water.
After our day on the water, we will stop at Dhigurah for a sandbank lunch and enjoy one of the country's most beautiful islands before returning to Fulidhoo in the evening. We will have dinner in Fulidhoo and head down to the local pier in the evening to see if we can spot some local manta.
Day 3: SHIPWRECK
Today is another exciting day! We will head down south to the crystal blue waters surrounding the famous Vaavu Shipwreck. The wreck is semi-submerged, so you can climb up and jump off, and everyone will have the opportunity to get some incredible underwater photos. Next, we will make our way to Shark Point for anyone willing to jump in the water with the resident nurse sharks that inhabit the area. Before be head back to our island Fulidhoo, we will stop at another beautiful local island call Thinadhoo for lunch.
In the late afternoon, we have the opportunity to head to a resort for a cocktail or join an optional excursion to camp out overnight at the end of the beach. We start off with an amazing bonfire on the beach, and have a local BBQ dinner. Then, we will have some fun, games, and dancing before spending the night sleeping under the stars. For those who prefer to sleep in their room, our hotel is only a short 5 minute walk away.
Day 4: MANTA RAY & SCUBA DIVE
We will wake up with the sunrise on our island paradise and enjoy a beachfront breakfast before heading out on another adventure - today, we search for Manta Ray! After returning from our Manta excursion, we enjoy lunch at your own pace before deciding whether you want to take part in the next optional activity: scuba diving!
For those who would like to explore the underwater world further, you will have an opportunity to go scuba diving! There are options for both beginner and certified divers to head out and experience some of the most beautiful and vibrant reefs in the world.
Scuba diving in the Maldives is a dream for many divers due to its crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life. If we are lucky, you can expect to see a vast array of tropical fish, along with green sea turtles and eagle rays. All of our diving guides are certified and have their own cameras, so you will not have to worry about capturing these special moments.
Day 5: TURTLES & SUNSET CRUISE
After a jam-packed couple of days, we know you all deserve a nice relaxing morning to sleep in. The island is beautiful and fun to explore, but for those who are interested, we will head own to the beach to go for a swim with the resident stingrays. We will have a drone ready to capture some amazing videos and photos for anyone who would like, and yes, it is all included free of charge for our guests!
Afterwards, we will take our private speedboat transfer to Maafushi, but we have a little suprise for you along the way! We will be stopping at secret little spot that we call 'Turtle Beach' so everyone will have the chance to swim with some Green Sea Turtles in their natural environment. At the turtles, we will continue on to Maafushi, where we will get settled in for the next few of days. This evening, we set sail on an incredible sunset cruise, where we can relax, enjoy a drink, or cast a line from the boat and go night fishing. The best part of the trip is that our local crew will cook up a fresh seafood dinner comprising tonight's catch. Tonight is a super chilled evening together.
Day 6: RESORT DAY
What would be the perfect way to spend a free day in the Maldives? At an all-inclusive resort surrounded by your amazing new travel buddies, of course!
Today, we depart for Centara Resort, where we have the option to indulge in the all-inclusive package, which includes transfers, resort entry, an international buffet lunch and unlimited cocktails. Sound good? We think so too! We will start the day at the hammocks in front of the water villas, then head to the beach for a swim and water sports. After lunch, we will make our way to the pool bar, where we can share a drink and a laugh as the sun sets into the night, and then we will return to Maafushi for dinner.
In the evening, it's time for some fun as we jump onboard a party boat and dance the night away!
Day 7: BEACH DAY
The last few days have been full of bucket list items, so today, we are having a Beach Day!
There are various water sports available at the main beach outside our hotel, including stand-up paddle boarding, parasailing, kayaking, jet-packing, and catamaran hire. You can also grab a snorkel and explore some of the reefs around the island, get a massage, go shopping for souvenirs, or just relax under a palm tree in a Maldivian hammock.
In the evening, we will have our final family beach dinner together, with a "white night" theme. This is the perfect way to end a perfect week with a fantastic crew! Tomorrow morning, our Maldives adventure comes to an end. Enjoy one last breakfast as you bid farewell to your Indy crew and your new lifelong friends :)
Day 8: DEPARTURE DAY
Departure day in the Maldives with Indy Escapes is a bittersweet symphony of tropical hues and heartfelt farewells. With heavy hearts and camera rolls filled with snapshots of blissful moments, our Indy Fam boards their speedboats and heads to the airport at the chosen time, carrying with them the essence of the Maldives.
The included airport transfers take around 45 minutes to arrive at the airport and depart Maafushi at 8:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.
Departure day marks the end of a chapter but ignites the spark of anticipation for the next adventure with Indy Escapes.
