Day 1: CANCUN
Make sure you get a window seatook out the window because your jaw will drop as you first set your eyes on this picturesque Caribbean dream! We will spend the afternoon watching our first Mexican sunset from the resort pol with a cocktail in hand. After some fun in the sun with your new friends, we will have some time to get read for dinner together and continue our evening with some fun and game sat the resorts.
Tonight is meant to be low key and a good chance to get to know each other as we will be hitting the town tomorrow but there will always be one person in every group who wants to sneak out a night early and explore Cancuns nightlife - Either way, this is your holiday so we will leave it up to you!
Day 2: NIGHTLIFE
Today we will wake up fresh and after a buffet breakfast at the resort, will set out on our first adventure. We make our way to a Cenote Park where you will have a chance to swim in the sinkholes, ride quad bikes or zip line! Either way, today is a great chance to get active for some awesome photo opportunities.
After an exciting day, we will make our way back to the resort for some free time by the pool. Somepeople will choose to rest up and other will enjoy a few drinks with their new friends. For the party people - tonight is your time to shine! Coco Bongo is a nightclub like no other and will give one of the most amazing and entertaining experiences that you can have on a night out! Without giving away too much.. This is one night out that you just cannot miss
Day 3: ISLA MUJERES
After a big night on the town, it is time to wind down and spend a day at the beach. We will make our way over to the beautiful and slow paced island of Isla Mujeres where you will have some free time for relaxing or optional activities such as snorkelling, Scuba Diving or another watersports. If that is not your jam, then find a hammock under a palm tree, grab a coconut and just watch the world go by.
We will make our way back to our Cancun for one more night of fun and games at our All Inclusive resort before we move on to our next destination tomorrow morning.
Day 4: TULUM
We will say goodbye to Cancun and life of All Inclusive luxury and hit the road, in search of a little bit of Mayan Culture. We arrive in Tulum around lunchtime, where we will have some time to unpack and get familiar with our new surroundings. After an orientation of your new destination, we will make our way down to one of the most breathtaking archeological sites in the world, the Zama!
This world heritage listed site is located in a little patch of Parkside that will blow your mind! Learn about the ancient Mayan kingdoms that inhabited the area for over a millennia then cool off in the crystal clear blue waters below. Tonight we will be taking it easy after enjoying a delicious local meal.
Day 5: AKUMAL
Today, you will have the option of a sunrise yoga session on the beach before making our way back for breakfast. For the adventurers, have a towel and snorkels ready because we will be heading to the famous Akumal Beach to snorkel with some turtles! These friendly fellas live here all year round in a protected area that helps cultivate the grassy sea floor.
Our favourite thing about Cenotes is that there are never two that are the same so we will continue todays adventure by exploring some more of the Yucatan's sinkholes. In the evening we will head out in Tulum to feats on some local cuisines before a night cap at one of the towns very chilled bars.
Day 6: CHITZEN ITZA
For any traveller, we dream of seeing the seven wonders of the world. The Pyramids, Machu Picchu, The Colosseum, Great Wall, Petra, the Taj Mahal and guess what? It seems like today is your day to tick off the 7th Wonder of the World - Chitzen Itza. This awe defining site was inhabited by the Mayans since around 600AD and served as their capital city for hundreds of years.
We will spend the day exploring the site and even have to opportunity to stop off at Coba, which is offers more Mayan ruins to explore. Tonight is our last night in beautiful Tulum and some people may chose to head back to the Zama ruins one last time before moving back to the buzz of Playa del Carmen.
Day 7: PLAYA DEL CARMEN
For a long time, Playa del Carmen has been a crowd favourite of the people trying to escape the masses of Cancun. It offers a smaller and more condensed pedestrian strip for shopping and nightlife. Today we will get our bearings then head down to the beach for some time to relax and chill, whilst others may try and join in on a local football or volleyball game on the sand.
After another Caribbean Sunset, we will rendezvous with the team and test our our skills in the kitchen with a Mexican Cooking Class! For those who like it spicy, now is your chance to add as much chilli, jabenjeros and salsa caliente as you like because you will also be the one eating it! After a tummy full of Mexican food, it is your choice to roll home into a food coma or wash it down with a few tequilas!
Day 8: COZUMEL
Today is our second last full day so we plan on fitting a lot in!
We will have the option of waking up early and heading over to the picturesque island of Cozumel for a snorkelling or scuba diving adventure. Which ever adventure you decide to take, try to conserve your energy as you will need it for when we get back to Playa del Carmen for a big night out! There is a saying "do as the locals do" so why not have a siesta?
We we head out on a bar crawl then finish the night at one of Playa del Carmens Beach Clubs!
Day 9: PLAYA DEL CARMEN
The last week has been fun been full of bucket list items - You have seen Chitzen Izta, Tulum, snorkelled with turtles, scuba dived, visited the cenotes, learnt how to cook an exotic new recipe and after a big night out on the town last night, it is time for well deserved beach day!
There are various water sports available at the beach which include; Stand up paddle boarding, parasailing, kayaking, jetpack and catamaran hire. Or you can just explore the Playa del Carmans ever polar fifth avenue and load up on some Mexican souvenirs.
Tomorrow morning our Mexican adventure comes to an end so you farewell your Indy crew and your new lifelong friends with a family feast to remember :)
Day 10: DEPARTURE
What an action packed week of adventure, culture and fun! We hope that you have managed to balance site seeing and exploring with relaxing by the pool or beach in this Caribbean paradise.
Our Indy Escapes team will organise your departure transfers or help you organise or the next portion of your trip. There is so much to do in this part of the world and we have only just scraped the surface of Mexico! We have no doubt that you would have managed to tick a number of items off your bucket list and are already thinking of your next escape!
